That is ridiculous…You two need to kiss and make up and at least meet half way on this. NPO’s rely on the private sector due to cuts on the federal and state levels. “Democrats and Republicans remain far apart on reaching a deal to avoid the fiscal cliff… Republicans continue to oppose any increases in tax rates, preferring instead a cap on itemized deductions, while insisting on reforms to entitlement programs and additional spending cuts. The White House estimates that a cap on deductions would CUT giving to charitable works by $10 billion per year, and although the cap proposal appears to be an “easy” source of new tax revenue in the eyes of some policymakers, a recent national poll found that the vast majority of the public opposes the idea.”

I got pretty fired up last night a friend was not grasping why? He did not understand Why so many people fund research for cancer. Why I specifically fight for childhood cancer? I also had a hard time waking up this morning. I also realized I can wake up every day without a disease. I also realized I have parents who are close friends of mine who have lost their children, currently losing their children and even had their lives kidnapped by cancer for days, weeks, months, and years. I then realized again why I wake up every morning and do what I can. Please take a moment of your time to take in a little understanding.

Previously, many young adult survivors trying to find coverage were told they were “uninsurable” as a result of their cancer. Of the nation’s 350,000 childhood cancer survivors, two-thirds face severe or life-threatening late effects, which makes insurance coverage an absolute necessity for this population.

The Act mandates that all children, including childhood cancer survivors, be allowed to stay on their parents’ health care plan up to age 26. Before passage of the legislation, many young adult cancer survivors found themselves in an insurance gap - dropped from their parents’ plan and unable to purchase their own coverage.

The Act prohibits insurance companies from imposing lifetime caps on coverage. Previously, childhood cancer survivors could find that treatment for late effects, such as a second cancer or other health complication, would “max out” their insurance coverage, forcing them into enormous medical debts.

I was reminded of this when my father was down in Charleston recently. As we walked up and down the streets of Charleston it dawned on my father and I how inconsiderate people are, when walking down the street. Crowds of 5,6 even 2 or 3 walk shoulder to shoulder and don’t so much as to step to the side especially here in Charleston. My dad spoke to it, “in my day walking down the street you treated it as a two way street one sort goes to the right going one direction the other opposite” He went on “see they should start to walk behind one another and lend way to us.” Enough is enough people respect the sidewalks and the people walking down them and learn you manners. Quit being inconsiderate.

To me that’s doing what I can for childhood cancer. I have met countless children in treatment, some kids just out of treatment, parents who have lost their CHILDREN or INFANTS, and even met children who will one day lose their battle. Enough is enough if children are the future, if life is important, if being a parent is important then why aren’t we doing something for the kids who typically can’t fight and advocate for themselves. Parents are left way to grief stricken and medical bill burdened to fight… We have to fight for them. The place is where? Here! The time is NOW!! We need to give that fighting Chance. Actions speak louder than words. Enough is enough Measure up.

Did u know smaller NPO's gave more than big ones in 11'

Did u know smaller NPO's gave more than big ones in 11':
Small to mid-size private foundations in general gave more than twice the 5 percent minimum distribution requirement, with the smallest foundations giving away significantly more during 2011.
